If your bedroom is tight for space, you might think you have no more room for any extra pieces of furniture (which might be true), but if you have an empty corner, an accent chair may fit perfectly into it.

Sometimes referred to as “occasional chairs” or “side chairs”, accent chairs tend to be considered decorative seating because they go beyond function by adding a visual point of interest, are generally more stylish and allow you to introduce another colour, texture and even pattern in the room or simply supplement to your room’s existing design.

Standard armchairs that you’ll see in a living room always tend to be more cushioned with padded arm supports and high-backs, which tend to make them very comfortable but don’t let that put you off!

There are lots of cosy and comfortable accent chairs that you could chill in for a while with a good book too.

Accent chairs come in many different shapes including tub, egg-shaped, lounge, wingback and barrel, plus many others with varying sizes and materials to suit your style.

I have a mauve button-tufted accent chair with a vintage English shape in my bedroom, and I can tell you that not only does it improve my bedroom’s appearance by adding an additional accent colour, but I actually use it as a legitimate seating area too.

While there are benefits to having an accent chair in a bedroom, they are not necessarily crucial pieces of furniture like a bed or set of drawers would be, so if you are planning on getting an accent chair, you might be looking for one that is reasonably priced.

Check out 12 accents chairs below that would instantly upgrade your bedroom without breaking the bank!
